What is a TeamLink CenterTM? A TeamLink Center (TLCTM) is a private place on the Web where an unlimited number of people can come together for Best-Time CollaborationTM as they trade messages conversationally and share files. Only those invited to a TeamLink Center can sign in to it. The person who sets up the TeamLink Center usually pays for it, though users in some TLCs may be required to pay their own user fees.
What is an Independent TeamLink Center (iTLC)? An Independent TeamLink Center is just like a regular TeamLink Center except that it has its own separate database and site. It can even have its own "skin" branded for your company. If and when desired, an independent TeamLink Center can be moved to your own server.
 
Note: both TLCs and iTLCs are as private or as public as you want. Users are only aware of eMeetings to which they have been invited. They cannot access any eMeeting without an invitation to it.
What is a User? A User is anyone invited to register and sign in to a TeamLink Center. Users are invited because they share a common project, interest, or employer, etc. Users may also join public TeamLink Centers that focus on an area of common interest.
What is an eMeeting? eMeetings are separate places within a TeamLink Center where invited users can discuss specific issues or topics of common interest such as a project. eMeetings are where the work gets done. There is no limit to the number of eMeetings—ongoing discussions and collaborations—in which registered users may participate.
What is a Position? Each user is assigned one or more Positions which typically represent a company title or a set of responsibilities. If you invite people to eMeetings by their assigned positions instead of their names, it is very easy to manage changes in the membership of your teams in the future. One change in your directory automatically updates all affected eMeetings.
What are permissions? Permissions are assigned to eMeeting members and determine what each user gets to see and do within that eMeeting. Use a read-only eMeeting to post bulletins, policies, or announcements. Use a write-only eMeeting to get information that others should not see (weekly sales reports, homework, test results, etc.). You can moderate eMeetings, lock files, edit posts—just about anything you need to do to keep control of your projects.
